Love Dartmoor Terms and Conditions
Walks must be booked in advance, as spaces are limited.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, it is possible that a walk might be relocated, and in extreme conditions, even cancelled, so whereas in this instance, every effort would be made to notify you, please ensure that you make contact, preferably on my mobile, if you are in any doubt.
Dartmoor weather is notoriously unpredictable, irrespective of the season, and insufficient clothing and/or resources could jeopardise the safety of the whole group, therefore sturdy comfortable walking boots, layered clothing and waterproof outerwear are minimum requirements, as is a snack and a drink for refuelling on route!
It is very important to advise, in confidence and in advance, if you suffer from any relevant medical conditions. All abilities are welcome, and individual levels of fitness are accommodated within the group.
Dogs are welcome on my walks but must be the sole responsibility of the owner, and remain under strict control to protect livestock and ground-nesting birds, particularly around the period of March to July. Farmers have the right to shoot dogs that are seen to be worrying their livestock, so if you are in any doubt as to the reliability of your dog on the moor…..please keep it on a lead!
Finally, dogs are excluded from any official walks that I do in my capacity as a Dartmoor National Park Guide, but this will be clearly stated when this applies.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please ask if there is anything you would like clarified, or have any queries regarding any aspects of the walks.
